Food Wars

I wish I had a cam-corder at just the right moment. Last night's dinner drama surely would have won us first prize on America's Funniest Home Videos.

Daniel has entered the 2-year old stage of not wanting to eat his dinner. Sometimes, he is really good and feeds himself and eats all his dinner. Other times, it's the battle of wits. He won last night. I couldn't be mad and laugh at the same time.

Here's what happened: We had a breakfast casserole for dinner- yummy stuff. You know, potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage, pineapple all mixed together. Way Yummy. Daniel decided he didn't want this stuff for dinner. We tried taking his Curious George stuffed animal away, we put him in time out. He came back to the table after his second time out. We told him to pick up his spoon and put the food in his mouth.

He picked up the spoon with his left hand and started to bring it to his mouth. I thought, "Finally." But, then Daniel's right hand came up in front of his mouth pushing his left hand away and crying and saying, "NO," at the same time. He was pushing his own hand away from his mouth and was still trying to put his spoon in his mouth!! It was sooooo funny. I can't describe the event well enough. Oh, for a cam-corder!!! I couldn't be mad at him for not eating, Dustin and I were laughing too hard.
